Sourced in partnership with Jamieson & Smith, this 100% Shetland wool comes from sheep who spend their days on windswept island hills, grazing on heather and seaweed, weathering whatever the North Atlantic throws at them. That hard life is exactly why the fiber is what it is — fine, resilient, and warm in a way that's hard to fake. Shetland wool has been prized for generations, and once you've worked with it, you'll understand why.
This is a true woolen-spun 2-ply, light and lofty, scoured and hand-dyed right here at RMFC. It takes color beautifully, holding depth and clarity that's hard to get from a commercially processed base.
A base built for sweaters, but soft enough to wear right against the skin — strong, warm, and honest, the way the islands made it.
