The colourwork in this design includes some rather long floats on the back, so to keep things tidy and make your knitting look smooth, this pattern uses the Ladderback Jacquard technique. It’s a game-changer for long floats to get a clean result. The pattern includes in-depth instructions for this technique and helpful charts to show exactly where to place those Ladderback Jacquard stitches.

This pattern is written for fingering weight yarn and is designed as a one-size project. Since gauge isn’t critical for this design, you can experiment with other yarn weights if you wish. Keep in mind that using different yarn weights will affect the final dimensions and yardage requirements, but it opens up possibilities for customization.
